On the top floor of Lucy Hotel a long, spacious suite sat empty, incomplete since the last renovation. The far reaching views, with sea on all three sides and the old town in the distance, gave the room a boat-like feeling. Inspired by its privileged position and nautical aura, we added a layer of fresh luxury with wicker panelled walls, breezy linen curtains, and a hint of Agatha Christie in the form of bamboo furniture and Persian carpets to frame the endless blue of the Mediterranean. The suite is already welcoming kings and queens of all sizes, travelling prime ministers and presidents on holiday, ageing prima-donnas, and young “royal” families all keen to travel first class.
